Job description
We are seeking a Mid-Level ETL Testing Engineer to join our dynamic data team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of our data processing systems. You will leverage your expertise in ETL testing to conduct thorough testing of data pipelines, validate data transformations, and ensure that data is accurately loaded into our data warehouses. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our data-driven decision-making processes while mentoring junior team members and participating in key design discussions. As a Mid-Level ETL Testing Engineer, you will be expected to independently own features and projects while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities
Conduct ETL testing to ensure data integrity and accuracy Develop and execute test plans and test cases for ETL processes Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements Mentor junior testers and provide guidance on ETL best practices Participate in design discussions and contribute to improving ETL processes Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data quality and pipeline performance Document testing processes and results for auditing and compliance purposes
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in ETL testing or data quality assurance Proven track record of successfully managing testing projects independently Strong understanding of ETL tools and technologies such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache Nifi Experience with SQL for data validation and querying Ability to write test scripts and automate testing processes where applicable Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and methodologies Basic understanding of project management principles
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in ETL testing and data validation techniques Some leadership experience in guiding junior team members Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in Scrum teams Knowledge of cloud-based data solutions such as AWS or Azure is beneficial Certifications in data quality or ETL tools are a plus
