QA Engineer / Software Tester
Job description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical QA Engineer / Software Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of our applications. The ideal candidate should have strong testing skills, experience with manual and/or automation testing, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
Review and analyze system specifications and requirements. Design, develop, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts. Perform various types of testing including Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, Sanity, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps). Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and ensure high-quality deliverables. Verify fixes and perform re-testing of resolved issues. Prepare detailed test reports and test summary documentation. Participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Support automation test development if applicable (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.). Ensure best practices in testing and quality assurance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a QA Engineer, Software Tester, or similar role. Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, defect lifecycle, and QA methodologies. Experience with test case management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, QMetry, etc.). Good understanding of databases and ability to write basic SQL queries. Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
