Senior QA Analyst (Mainframe, SQL, Abinitio)
Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Analyst with strong expertise in IBM Mainframe, SQL, and Ab Initio ETL testing to support quality assurance activities across enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of critical systems through structured testing practices, process improvement, and collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
• Provide expert-level QA support for complex testing assignments and projects. • Plan, design, and execute Quality Assurance testing for new and modified applications across Mainframe and distributed environments. • Participate in requirement analysis and contribute to the development of QA processes and best practices. • Prepare and review test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements. • Perform QA reviews and develop testing metrics to assess application quality and reliability. • Collaborate with development, business, and operations teams to resolve QA-related issues. • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior QA team members. • Independently manage testing tasks, requiring minimal supervision. • Identify risks, recommend improvements, and implement corrective actions in testing processes. • Analyze trends in defects and test results to improve overall software quality.
Requirements
• 6+ years of experience in QA and testing roles. • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application testing or development. • Strong knowledge of SQL, Ab Initio ETL, and Mainframe environments. • Experience in creating Test Plans, Test Scripts, and QA Metrics. • Good understanding of QA processes, defect lifecycle, and testing methodologies. • Ability to work independently and in team environments. • High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
