Senior QA Analyst SQL / ETL / Data Testing
Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior QA Analyst with a strong proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and data testing methodologies. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our data systems through comprehensive testing strategies and execution. You will collaborate closely with data engineers and business analysts to design, implement, and maintain test cases that validate data accuracy and system performance. As a Senior QA Analyst, you will leverage your expertise to identify potential issues before they affect production, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor junior QA team members. Your analytical skills will be key in executing complex queries to validate data and provide insights that drive data-driven decisions across the organization.
Key responsibilities
Design and implement test plans for ETL processes and data validation. Perform data analysis and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity. Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects in data systems. Automate testing processes where applicable to improve efficiency. Mentor and guide junior QA analysts in best practices for data testing. Participate in requirements gathering and ensure test cases align with business objectives. Monitor and report on testing progress and results to stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in QA testing, specifically in data-focused environments. Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and manipulation. Experience with ETL processes and data integration testing. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools. Proven ability to design and execute complex test cases and scenarios. Knowledge of data quality metrics and testing methodologies.
Qualifications
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Familiarity with test automation tools like Selenium or QTP. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java. Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Certifications in QA methodologies (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus. Experience in cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
